Welcome to the first and only alternative 2 handed fly fishing web journal. We’ve created this website for the growing number of anglers who fly fish for trout and other game fish with double handed rods.

   When we first started 2 Handed Trout we had one vision in mind. We wanted to create an info site for anglers that shared our love for light double handed fly rods, both Spey and switch. We concentrated solely on providing info about fly gear, destinations, techniques and tips for trout-spey enthusiasts.

   Over time our vision has widened and so has the range of topics that we wish to explore. While trout-spey fishing with light rods is still our main focus, we have decided to cover the use of all two handed rods for any type of fish. Bass or Steelhead, Bonefish and Pike. Pretty much any fish that one would choose to chase with two handed rods.

   We’ve enjoyed watching the growth of this small niche of the two handed community over the last few years. The companies that we have worked closely with continue to push the envelope of two handed fly fishing equipment. Always at the forefront, they are willing to try new ideas and embrace feedback from their customers.
